TRAINING TIP TUESDAY

The following image illustrates the correct and incorrect fit and placement of a pinch/prong collar!

If you are among the many individuals who have purchased a pinch collar to address their dog's leash pulling issues, do not worry! Pinch collars are excellent tools, but they require education on proper use, fitting, and safety precautions to ensure their effectiveness and safety.

The accompanying images and descriptions are intended to educate you on the correct fitting of your pinch collar. - Picture 1 (correct): The collar is positioned just below the jawline, does not slide down the neck, and remains in place. - Picture 2 (incorrect): The collar is placed at the base of the neck, is loose and slides down, and is too large, causing it to droop. - Picture 3 (correct): The collar fits snugly without being too tight, is positioned just below the jawline, and remains relaxed. - Picture 4 (incorrect): The collar is positioned at the base of the neck, is fully contracted yet remains loose when not in use. If you are still uncertain about the proper fitting of your pinch collar, please consult a professional. Trainer Lindsey would be happy to provide guidance!
